Despite connecting to the person next to you

When all is revealed
And immunity is given for the truth
You say nothing?
Despite having someone still wanting to be there for you

Silence and lies
Hurt
More than the truth
Despite having to learn the truth about yourself

Relationships
The merging of two individuals
Compromise
Is what is needed to make things work
As a cohesive unit

Communication
Needed to understand
One's feeling and needs
Without this
How can love survive?

Expectations
Set so high
Makes failure unavoidable
Nobody is perfect
Admitting this is brave

Shown in different ways
With words and/or actions
Not easy at times
Effort is needed to keep it strong
