Pet Peeves: People With No Patience

I had someone send me an email to ask a question. I responded to the person within five minutes and I thought I gave them the answer that they need. Well during the five minutes this person, who I don't know well, contacted a mutual friend for my phone number and sent me a text message with the same question. I could understand if the matter was urgent, but it was just a inquiry which I could have responded to a day later with no harm done.

WhirlyBall

We all may go back out and play again. I scored twice and came close
to scoring numerous times. Ultimately the goal was to have fun and
not focus on winning ... but deep down everyone wanted to win.

Clay Aiken Is Gay

Well knock me over with a feather. I would have never thought he was a gay ... until he talked.

All kidding aside, congrats to Clay for finally coming out. Gays in the media need to be more visible and it was brave for him to come out to the world.

Put Out , Or Not Put Out

This past Sunday I was out having dinner with friends and the conversation turned to why a friend of ours, JL, was not dating anyone.

JL stated that he was just waiting for the right person came along. The conversation lasted for about an hour, and leaving out the details, my other friend FM stated that JL's last "relationship" ended because he didn't have sex with his boyfriend. Yes -- it was JL's fault that the guy he was dating had sex with someone else while dating him.

JL and I were stunned at the statement.

FM's point was that if you don't have sex with someone, then you never know if you are truly compatible with one another -- and eventually they will go and find someone else with whom to have sex. JL and are in similar in age and share the same view point that less is more when it come to sex. FM is about 13 years older, so I guess the reason why we didn't see eye-to-eye on this matter could have been generational. FM suggested that we should "put ourselves out there" and go find someone to hook-up with just to have the experience. The idea was quickly shot down but the two of us.

FM's boyfriend, who is the manager at the restaurant, joined us in middle of this discussion and was asked to joined the discussion. He decision with split. He agree that there is no excuse for cheating while dating someone indeterminate of the length of time, but also stated that sex played a major part in his ideal relationship. He was Switzerland and also in same age bracket as JL and I.

I think we were all cranky because they ran out of ribs just before we arrived. Next Sunday we will get our fill of ribs and a discussion with more levity.

Another Man's Junk, Is Another Man's Treasure

This past Sunday, I went to my friend's house to so we and some other people can go out to dinner. I was walking from the parking lot to the complex where his condo was located when this man walked past me with his penis hanging out of his short-shorts. It wasn't accidental slippage, it was completely intention. I wanted to say to him, "Hey. Do you know you junk is hanging out of your shorts?" -- but I didn't because I thinks that's what he wanted. I arrive to my friend's place and I told him about it, he was like, "Oh yeah, that's Bob. He does that all the time." We all laughed headed to his car to go to dinner.

Coming off of the elevator, we turned the corner and there was man in the flimsiest of shorts with no underwear bouncing past us. We all gave each other a look and laughed. My friend asked if that was the guy I saw when I came in earlier. I told that this guy was new, but Bob is sitting on the step in front of his car. He mentioned that his complex is 95% gay and no one really pays any mind to all of these shenanigans.

First it was the guy in the sheer bathing suit, now this? I can't imagine what I will see when I go to his place for pool party for Pride weekend ... but I will try to bring my camera. :)

10593 Days Ago...

... (including 8 days for leap years) I was born.

I made another year relatively unscathed. I always considered that 28 would by my scary age. Not for any reason in particular other than my gut reaction. I experienced a lot in my 28 year of life:

The Good
- I got to meet Venus Williams.
- I got to go to the US Open for the very first time.
- I won a bunch of tennis tournaments.
- I saw Kanye West this past May and it has replaced my previous (and only) concert memory of when I can MC Hammer live as a kid. I have tickets to see Janet Jackson in October (7 rows from the stage -- WooHoo!) and possibly going to see Madonna in November when she come to Houston, TX.

The Bad

- I somehow got Mono and I hope never to contract it again. WORST. EXPERIENCE. EVER!

The Ambivalent
- I was in a relationship in 2008 and it was both good and bad. But I feel that it was beneficial to me because I am (still) learning what I want in future in terms of dating. So ... ultimately it was more good than bad.

Thanks to all of those who sent me messages with birthday wishes. I appreciated them. Things are extremely busy at work and I can't wait to get out of here so I can go home and watch the US Open Men's Final.

I should have taken the day off.

Subway Stranger

Friend: "Look over there."
Me (turning head): "Yeah, I saw him."
F: "Since you like Puerto Rican guys, I thought I would point him out."
M: "I do, but he's not Puerto Rican."
F: "Really, how can you tell?"
M: "He is wearing a Star of David necklace."

I was on the 7 train going to the US Open when I noticed this guy sitting across from me. He would look at me and smile a little before looking away. I would do the same and this game continued until we reach our destination (Flushing Meadow, NY). When the train stopped, he looked at me as though he want to say something to me, but he turned away instead. My friend suggested that I go after him but that it was best that I didn't. He disappeared in a sea of tennis enthusiasts never to be seen again.

In hindsight, he could have been Puerto Rican and Jewish. But I guess we will never know.

Labor Day Doings

Yesterday, I started the day with tennis with a group of friends. We played for about 3 hours before heading to lunch at Panera Bread where I recounted my meeting with Venus Williams and other happenings while in NYC.

After lunch, I went to the Apple store to get a Aiport Extreme because my old router died on me. I was in its last throws before I left for NYC, but I tried to get as much use from it before I bought a new one. I called my buddy because I wasn't sure if I should get the Airport Extreme or the Time Capsule. I got what I needed, and then waited for 10 minutes in the middle of the store looking around for a rep. to ring me up so I could go. The Apple store no longer has a table to purchase you items -- the reps now carry wi-fi device for purchases ... FYI. I got my new router home, hooked it up and I was up and running again in about 10 minutes. I need to configured some other things, but I got my Internet/network connection back up and running.

I left the house and headed my friend FM's place for an impromptu pool party. I found my UB swim trunks and packed my other things needed and left the house. I arrived at FM's place only to get a text message while still in the parking lot saying that things has been canceled. I called him and he explained to me what happened and told me to come up to his place. We chatted for a bit and made our way to the pool. He got in and I chilled on the edge with my legs in the water because the weather was cooler because the pool was covered by shade. We talked about a lot of things and got caught up on each others lives. A guy come out to the pool area wearing a tiny, sheer bathing suit ... it was not a pretty sight. Some of FM's friends from the complex came to the pool area and we began talking. FM wants me to consider buying a condo in his area and his friend invited me in to his place that was recently remodeled to see how the place can been configured. It was very nice and it is something I might consider. We said goodbye and headed back to FM's place.

We got changed and heading to a restaurant, where FM's boyfriend restaurant is the manager, for dinner. The boyfriend forced plate after plate of food upon us and I ate until I couldn't eat anymore. FM and the boyfriend are adorable together. They were staring lovingly at each other the entire time at dinner. With our bellies full, we left a nice tip for the waiter (since he kept my glass of ice tea always full and the meal was gratis) and said goodbye to the boyfriend.

I got home around 10pm and I watched tennis until I fell asleep on the couch.

How was your Labor Day?
