Fancy Meeting You Here: Michael Urie

I was out last night playing pool and after we finished we decided to do a lap before committing to a location. We found a spot and met up with some other people we know. I shifted my location, and who did I see ...

... Ugly Betty's Michael Urie. He was just standing around chatting with a few people while having a beer. He wasn't being approached by a lot of people but he seemed just to be relaxing. I saw him and I was like, "oh, there's that guy from Ugly Betty. You know ... what's his name?" I eventually had to look up his name on my iPhone to remember, but then I lost interest. He seemed nice, though.

Edited (8/21/08) - he is from Dallas, TX so that would explain why he would be in town.

People: Victoria and David Beckham

Here is an interview from NBC's Today Show:

It weird, but I don't think I have ever heard Victoria speak before. To me, she has always been just a person in a photograph. She is seems to be quite a sweet person.

The other weird thing, I think her voice is deeper than her husband's. David Beckham is an extremely attractive man, but when he opens his mouth and that high pitch voice comes out ... it ruins the sexiness. For example:

See what I mean?

Hopefully I will get to see both of them when I am in LA next week.

Random: I Look Like Who?

I forgot my ID card for my company's parking garage so after work I had to go to the parking attendant and fill out a form so I could out. After I said hello the attendant asked if I ever watched a show on Lifetime called Army Wives. I told her no, because it is on Lifetime and I don't watch television for women -- I only thought that last part. She proceeded to tell me that I looked exactly like one of the stars of the show. She told me I should check it out and see for myself.

When I got home I logged onto the website for the show, and saw this:

He is not a bad looking guy, but I know I don't look like him. The only similarity that we have is that our faces are kind of round. Other than, we have nothing in common. I recognize the actor, Sterling K. Brown, from a show that used to air on FX called Starved. A show about anorexia and bulimia ... yes, it was a comedy.

For those who know me, does this guy look like me? I know my abs are more defined, so overlook that minor detail.

Misquoted: Cameron Diaz

I begin my morning by reading my list blog RSS feeds, and I saw this on kenneth in the (212):
Popular: How embarrassing was Cameron Diaz on the "Today Show"?
It was followed by a link to TMZ.com and contained a short clip of Cameron Diaz being in interviewed on the Today Show. Here is the post:
Cameron Diaz says that all the world's like high school -- and that celebs are the "popular kids" that everyone is just dying to know about. Good to know that Cam doesn't have a shrek of humility.

On the "Today" show
this morning, Meredith Vieira just had to go there, asking Diaz what it was like to be on the same red carpet for the "Shrek the Third" premiere -- and share a kiss (on the cheek) with ex-beau and co-star Justin Timberlake. "We're friends, so we're OK," said Diaz. "All you want is that the person you care about to be happy ... It's like high school. We're like the popular kids. Everybody wants to know what happens to us."

...Until you reveal yourself to be just a little bit full of yourself. (source)

Now if you just read the article Cameron Diaz seems to be conceited, but viewing the video shows something completely different. The actual quote was:
"...It's like high school, isn't it? [laughs] We as celebrities are sort of like the 'popular kids' that everybody wants to know our business. So, you know, people make a big deal out of it, but it's really not a big deal at all."

To completely misconstrue someone's statement in order to demean, on a site dedicated to celebrity gossip, and to post a video that contradicts the entire article seems to be irresponsible. Don't get me wrong, I love me some celebrity gossip. But at the end of the day, it is just that ... gossip.
